What Have Studies Shown To Be The Benefits Of Bravecto?

European labs looked at how well Bravecto worked against bug vectors both in the field and in the lab. In an EU field study involving 561 dogs with flea and tick problems, the benefits of Bravecto pills were compared to those of fipronil, which kills fleas and ticks when applied as a spot treatment to the skin of the dogs.  

The most important sign that the treatment worked was that the number of fleas and ticks on the affected dogs went down three months after treatment. Field studies showed that Bravecto was effective at reducing the number of fleas and ticks on dogs that already had flea or tick infections, and its effects on most types of ticks and fleas continued for three months. 

Two more EU field studies looked at how well the spot-on treatments Bravecto and fipronil worked on flea- and tick-infested dogs and cats. Bravecto was good at getting rid of fleas. It worked as well as fipronil in terms of how many dogs, cats, and homes were free of fleas and ticks up to 12 weeks after treatment.

How Much Should You Give Your Dog?

Small Pooch: 

Small dogs that weigh between 9.9 and 22 pounds need one dose of 250 mg every 12 weeks. Toy dogs that weigh between 4.4 and 9.9 pounds need one dose of 112.5 mg every 12 weeks. 

Dogs with a medium size: 

Pets that weigh between 22 and 44 pounds must take one 500mg dose every three months. 

The Big Dog: 

Every three months, extra-large breed dogs weighing between 88 and 123 pounds must take one 1400mg dose, while big breed dogs weighing between 44 and 88 pounds must take one 1000mg chew or syringe. Dogs that weigh more than 123 pounds must get a mix of food and pipettes.
