Site Preparation and Grading

Site Preparation and Grading in Waco

A build only sits well on ground that was shaped right first. Cinemadumeep strips and stockpiles topsoil, moves the mass with hydraulic excavators and crawler dozers, and grades a raw Waco parcel to the engineer’s plan, establishing pad elevations and the drainage slopes that carry water away from the structure. The grading is priced by the square foot, so the cost is clear from the start.

Why Grading Sets the Whole Project

Rough grade gets the site close, and finish grade dials in the last tenths of a foot that decide whether water drains or ponds. Skip that precision and you invite settling, wet crawl spaces, and cracked flatwork later. Doing it to spec on the front end is far cheaper than fixing drainage after the concrete is down on a lot off Washington Avenue.

Our Process

We start with an 811 locate and a walk of the parcel to measure the cut and fill. Topsoil comes off and gets stockpiled, then we rough grade to the plan and compact the subgrade in controlled lifts. Finish grade sets the final slopes, and we verify density to 95 percent with a Standard Proctor test (ASTM D698) where the plan requires it. Silt fence stays up to hold sediment on site.
