Higgins' Haven: Population Ø - 13 Images of the heavenly Chris Higgins and her haven of doom

Welcome to Higgins' Haven!

Hey guys, who's been smoking dope in my van?

Chris Higgins lectures oh-so-dramatically to her friends while a surprise visit comes their way.

Chris Higgins screams because she's either A) afraid of the corpse that's falling out of her closet or B) bummed that her favorite blue sweater might be lost.

Chris Higgins tells her tale of being attacked and possibly captured by Jason.

This story conjures up some very painful and mysterious memories for Chris.

I hear ya, girl.

Chris and Rick. Chris seems very happy. And then it all goes to hell.

Jason has killed all your friends, Chris Higgins.

Chris grabs some wood.

And then Chris grabs an axe. It's time to deal with this.

Chris Higgins gets a surprise from beneath the lake.

Exiting Higgins' Haven. Crazy, but not forgotten.

Preview Of The Week: Two from '82 - The Slayer & The Seduction

Here's a look at the previews for two underrated Films from 1982.

The Slayer is a forgotten Slasher Film set on a mostly unpopulated island. Great atmosphere. This Film would be tremendously helped by a proper DVD release. Directed by J.S. Cardone who next directed the likewise little-seen underrated-gem Thunder Alley (1985), which co-starred future scream queen Jill Schoelen.

The Seduction (seen here paired with the awesome Vice Squad) is a thriller about a man's obsession with Morgan Fairchild. Nearly pornographic close-up shots of Ms. Fairchild's hair and nails ensue. A lot of fun. Directed by David Schmoeller, of the unforgettable Tourist Trap (1979.

Meep Pic Of The Week: Roxanne (1987)

From Columbia Pictures
Original Theatrical Release Date: June 19, 1987

25 Years ago or so, I caught this rather charming reworking of Cyrano De Bergerac in theaters. Steve Martin would always be the wild and crazy guy, but he also became a rather clever screenwriter with his work on this Film. Though one could argue the Romantic Comedy genre skirts too closely to being merely middle of the road, and made for those who seem fine in it, there are Films in this genre that break out of that mold and win you over with their smarts and engaging performances. Roxanne is one of the best Films of 1987 because it does all of that, and it never fails to makes me smile.

And another thing... to cast Daryl Hannah as a rocket scientist, and believably so, is quiet a feat. She's great here, as is Steve Martin who plays a likable guy with some serious quirks, especially if you bring up his rather large nose. Also fun to watch is Michael J. Pollard as a dimwitted fireman, Fred Willard as the obnoxious mayor and Shelley Duvall as the best friend who tries to bring the two leads together. I also love the Film's locations. This Movie is beautifully shot with some really stunning locales. Vancouver, take me away!

"It's because I'm afraid of worms, Roxanne. WORMS!"
