31 Days Of 80's Movie Slashers: 10/1 - Killer Party (1986)

To like, totally celebrate the Halloween season and everything this year,
I like decided to focus on some really bitchin' 80's Slasher Movies.

So get out your leg warmers, hockey masks, side ponytails & razor glove and enjoy!

Day Uno:

Killer Party
An MGM Release
Original Theatrical Release Date: May 9th 1986
DVD: Yes

Plot: Three fun loving gals: good girl Jennifer, hot to trot Phoebe and nerdy special effects wiz Vivia, pledge a sorority. Part of their pledge is to attend a party at an abandoned frat house. If pledging wasn't torture enough, someone starts killing of the guests.

Killer Party is kind of the slasher film's mixed-up, crazy stepchild. You'll find a wintery mix of Canadian locales and College Campus Shenanigans. There will be costume partying, bicycling, guillotines, ghost stories, hot tubs, sorority stunts, David Lee Roth-like kicks, crawling on the ceiling, actors from Endless Love, ominous shots of Keds' adorned feet, talk of big fat cucumbers and some evil possession among many other wonderful things.

KILLER is a grab bag of 80's cheese and fun. You'll need a sense of humor and an appreciation of filmmakers, for better or for worse, trying to take a standard Slasher flick to some very strange places. It's that kind of nuttiness in an 80's Movie that I never tire of.

A face only a possessed mother could love.

Good news... The newly remastered DVD is now available from Warner Achive!

You can buy it right here:

Why not check out this Scene from Killer Party, now remastered in all it's 80's Movie pop glory:

How about the really catchy Bananarama-like tune from the film, "Best Times":

And no post about Killer Party wouldn't be complete without a little White Sister action!

See you tomorrow!

Somehow I never rented this when I would go through the horror section at my local video store back in the late 80s/early 90s and pick up a dozen titles a week. So glad that Warner Archive made it available, your review piqued my interest

I overdosed on horror and slashers in the 80s as a kid, but I never managed to catch this one. Looks like I'll be heading over to the Warner Archive soon...
