10 Movies About... Bad Weather

Since the east coast is now recovering from it's attack by Hurricane Irene, why not give a little love to 10 Favorite Movies where Mother Nature becomes a real bitch.

A truck filled with leaking explosives over a collapsing bridge in a rain storm leads to nail biting suspense in Sorcerer (1977)

The best movie ever made about killer lepers from beyond the grave is John Carpenter's The Fog (1980)

An out of control rainstorm in Wales can only be upstaged by the bizarre people inside The Old Dark House (1932)

A hurricane during Thanksgiving brings together a family with a very special bond in The House Of Yes (1997)

A powerful storm in the deep south knocks over power lines and brings some very angry worms to surface and wreak havoc in Squirm (1976)

A young boy gets abducted in a Brazilian rainforest and his father begins a 10 year search to find him in The Emerald Forest (1985)

Gangsters find they are no match for a hurricane in the Bogart/Bacall classic Key Largo (1948)

Nic Cage goes way over his head at a fixed boxing match by uncovering an assassination plot and attempting to save Carla Gugino while mother nature really lets loose outside in Snake Eyes (1998)

One dark and stormy night a family and several others seeks shelter at gothic looking mansion in the English countryside. Too bad for them as it's full of killer Dolls (1987)

Kurt Russell chills out in the one and the only John Carpenter's The Thing (1982)

I love the storm as a cinematic device, it's a great way to isolate the action and the characters, which I think the movies on your list shows. My fave among those is Key Largo-- you can't go wrong with Bogie and Edward G. Robinson.
