Let's get some action.

I wanted to start off 2010 with a little action. Okay, a lot of action.

Here are images of some largely 80's action flicks that time has forgotten. So slip on your pair of Chuck Norris action jeans, drink a case of good ole American beer and enjoy...

I need to see Scavengers.

Did you know Kip Gilman is married to Jamie Rose and when I met her in June of last year I told her I loved him in Bedroom Eyes and an episode of Magnum he was on. I can't tell if she was shocked that I knew who she was married to, or that I was so familiar with his work, but she thought it was sweet. Or at least I think she thought it was sweet -- She's a good actress you know! :)

Happy New Year!

The artwork for Scavengers always distracted me at the video store because the parachute straps digging into Kip Gilman's thighs highlight his package waaaay too much.

Nice factoid about Kilman's connection to the lovely Jamie Rose!
I love Just Before Dawn dearly.

Wow, so many memories of the old video store days with those box covers. I'll wager that for most of these films, those box covers are the more entertaining than the entirety of the movies themselves!

Oh, and that's some particularly shite artwork on the DEATH CHEATERS and GANG WAR covers.

A couple of those posters sparked my memory implants and made them go haywire! I mustve seen these a hundred times on those endless trips to the video store when I was a kid!

The one for The Patriot jumped at me saying "hey remember me? You never rented me you bastard!"

I want to check out Quiet Cool, if its available. Im on a quest to see all weed related films, gonna be blogging about that soon!

TROY--- Those two are specifically pretty awful. Almost endearingly so!

I personally love the artwork for THE GREAT SKYCOPTER RESCUE with the image of the girl running away from the explosion. They didn't even bother trying to match the two images at all, just pasting her in.

And the artwork for PROVOKED makes me giggle every single time I see it.

And with VENGEANCE IS MINE it must surely suck to be all ready to use your shotgun when all of a sudden a chainsaw comes out of nowhere and saws off your head.

Film Con--

Quiet cool is available on DVD. I remember liking it when it came out in the theaters...It was one of those New Line releases from the mid 80's that had a very specific feel to them. I also recommend OUT OF BOUNDS with Anthony Michael Hall from that time period.

Thank you. It's like walking through a video store back in the 80's again. Those were some great times. I can practically see one of those big clamshell boxes on the shelves.

oh man what a treat!

this really took me back to the times at the Video Hut when i was 14 years old and i had my memebership card and 3 movies for $5 fridays. Awesome!

so many great posters but i think Gang War is my fav of the bunch. never seen it but the cover illustration is so bad its's good.

Yesss...

And um... those aren't rollerblades she's wearing on the cover. You would think a movie called Rollerblade Warriors: Taken By Force would know the difference between quads and blades. Sigh...

Awesome collection of posters!

Provoked is hilarious! "When Enough IS Enough"

Plus the McKeiver Jones III factor.

Here's our review too!:
