Now playing at a theater near you... 25 years ago

25 Years ago this week these movies opened up on the big screen: This little movie opened the weekend before: (the most successful R-Rated comedy of all time until 2009's The Hangover) The following week people learned how to stop worrying and love the boogaloo: Beverly Hills Cop stayed on top for weeks on end, thus less films were released during the change into the new year, but that's okay. The one-two Betsy Russell punch of opened in January of 1985 and I had something else to go see and drool over. Oh, and December 1984 wouldn't be complete without...

I loved Cotton Club. Couldn't find what was so wrong about it.

Wow, its weird, but I remember this exact time of the year, when Tomboy was playing in theaters! I was living in The Bronx, NEW YORK, and I went to watch two movies to the theater:

Conan The Destroyer which by the way was playing in a double bill with D.C. Cab, thats the movie where Mr. T plays a freaking cab driver! I had to actually sit through D.C. Cab in order to see Conan!

Wow, those posters take me back. And where was I when Suzanne Somers did Playboy? (Since I was 15 at the time, maybe I'm better off not remembering.)

Thank God that Tomboy is available and videocassette AND videodisc. :)

Beverly Hills Cop was a big hit in the 1980's. The film was loved by many action fans, as well as comedy fans and movie buffs at the time. It is still being admired by many people as one of the funniest cop movies ever made.
The thing I love about this movie is that Eddie Murphy was perfectly cast as the Axel Foley character. Originally, Sylvester Stallone was considered for the role. Thank God he wasn't! Eddie Murphy was perfect for the role, because he can be a clever cop, and can at the same time be very funny! Another great thing about Beverly Hills Cop is its smashing soundtrack. There are some great hit songs from the 1980's featured in the soundtrack, as well as an excellent musical score which can be heard throughout the movie (to me, the musical score is the Beverly Hills Cop "theme song"). consulta online medico online pediatra online medico online doctor online dermatologo online veterinario online veterinario online psychologist online consulta online abogado online abogado online abogado online abogado online abogado online psicologo online doctor online psicologo online abogado online abogado online Perhaps the only downside of Beverly Hills Cop is that it can be pretty slow in certain scenes. Hardcore action fans would probably be disappointed by this. But let's face it: Beverly Hills Cop is not an all-out mindless action movie. It is actually a clever comedy with elements of action present within. To conclude, Beverly Hills Cop is arguably Eddie Murphy's best film since he fits the Axel Foley character perfectly. There are many funny scenes featuring Eddie Murphy that will have people laughing (even the action scenes can be cleverly funny)!
